Tencent Cloud Provides Robust Support to Canton Fair for Third Consecutive Time

129th Canton Fair benefits from Tencent Cloud’s upgraded services, from website functions and live broadcasting to customer service


Continuing its momentous streak of providing strong and reliable cloud support to the biggest global events, Tencent Cloud, the cloud business of Tencent – a world-class, leading cloud service provider of internet value-added services – celebrates the success of the 129th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair). The event benefited from Tencent’s cloud technology support for the third consecutive time in its recently concluded 10-day online exhibition.

Held online from April 15 to 24, the 129th Canton Fair featured a total of 50 exhibition sections across 16 categories of commodities, with exhibitors that uploaded more than 2.7 million products – including 820,000 new products. With Tencent Cloud’s robust technology support, this year’s exhibitors were able to showcase their high-quality products through graphics, video, 3D and VR, including via 2,600 virtual exhibition halls, with the range of diverse online display formats enhancing the experience for buyers.

Raising the bar even higher, this year’s session built on the momentum of previous Canton Fair exhibitions to better realize its goal of enabling international merchants “register, find products, conduct successful negotiation” via 120 function points that were developed and upgraded online, such as:

  • Enhanced official website platform functions – The website upgrades the interactive communication brought by a 3D stereoscopic visual experience, enhances matchmaking efficiency, and optimizes the features for processing sourcing requests and instant messaging for each exhibitor’s account.

  • Intelligent and accurate allocation of live broadcast resources – Live-streaming efficiency has been improved: Each live broadcast time was set at two hours, with optimized distribution rules in the live broadcast room as well as resources allocated according to the exhibition area, booth and brand attributes.

  • Advanced smart customer service – The enhanced multimedia, multi-lingual and 24/7 smart customer service system provides more intelligent, convenient omni-channel services.
