Alibaba Cloud Launches Third Datacentre in Japan to Support Customers’ Accelerated Digital Transform

Alibaba Cloud has announced that it has launched its third datacentre in Japan to support the growing digital transformation demands from customers in the country.
Located in Tokyo, the datacentre provides a wide range of cloud computing products ranging from storage, network, elastic computing, security, database to developer services. The datacentre also adheres to the high security standards and compliance regulations in Japan. With three datacentres on the ground, Alibaba Cloud aims to offer Japanese customers high availability, exceptional resilience and robust disaster recovery capabilities.
With the introduction of the new datacentre, Alibaba Cloud now boasts a network of 86 availability zones in 28 regions across the globe, offering a highly secure, scalable, robust and sustainable cloud infrastructure to support global customers embracing digital innovation.

Alibaba Cloud has been supporting customers in the gaming, manufacturing, retail and automobile sectors in Japan since it unveiled its first datacentre in Tokyo in 2016. Since then, Alibaba Cloud has also introduced a series of cutting-edge cloud services to the market, from GPU instances, AI acceleration engines for machine learning tasks, visual AI products in the e-commerce and auto sectors, to metaverse space construction technology to support clients’ demands for ongoing cloud-based innovation.
Alibaba is the world’s third leading and Asia Pacific’s leading IaaS provider by revenue in U.S. dollars since 2018, according to Gartner.
